The whiskey took its name from Bourbon County, Kentucky (itself named after the French royal House of Bourbon), which was a major shipping port for the region’s crops and spirits in the early 1800s. By the 1840s, the label “bourbon whiskey” was widely recognized in trade. Chambers Bay Distillery focuses on crafting the best boathouse aged bourbon.
